Sites@Duke

Sites@Duke is Duke’s WordPress service, providing faculty, staff and students a way to quickly create and publish blogs and websites. CIT supports faculty uses of Sites@Duke for teaching and learning activities.

Over the past year, Duke faculty members created 263 course sites (25% increase over last year) on Sites@Duke. Students can also create mini-sites (called ‘subsites’) that branch off of a main course site. This year, Duke students and faculty created another 660 sub-sites (7% increase over last year).

Overall, members of the Duke community have created 7,338 active blogs (22% increase over last year) since 2010.

In the spring of 2015, the Sites@Duke team moved from a quarterly to bi-weekly update cycle in order to increase the security and functionality of the system and their responsiveness to feature requests.
